About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing company in the hidrocarburos sector, is seeking a skilled Geólogo de Exploración to join their team in Zapopan, Jalisco . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves. The successful candidate will work closely with exploration teams, utilizing advanced geological and geophysical techniques to map subsurface structures and assess resource potential. Key Responsibilities

- Interpret geological and geophysical data (seismic, well logs, core samples) to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Develop geological models and maps to define exploration targets.
- Evaluate the commercial viability and risk associated with exploration prospects.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to optimize drilling strategies.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on geological advancements and exploration technologies relevant to the hidrocarburos industry.
- Conduct field assessments and supervise geological fieldwork when necessary.
- Contribute to portfolio management and strategic planning for exploration activities.




- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety protocols during all exploration activities.
- Mentor junior geologists and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration geology, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and petrophysics.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Experience with seismic interpretation and well log analysis.
- Familiarity with exploration workflows and risk assessment techniques in the hidrocarburos sector.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
- English proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork or project meetings.
