About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Capital Goods Buyer to manage the procurement of significant capital investments, including machinery, equipment, and infrastructure projects. This role is critical for ensuring that the company acquires the necessary assets to support its growth and operational needs in a cost-effective and timely manner. The adecuado candidate will have extensive experience in sourcing complex capital equipment, leading negotiations, and managing large-scale procurement projects. This is a key on‑site role based in Tijuana, Baja California, MX, requiring a strong presence to liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors. You will be instrumental in strategic asset acquisition decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the sourcing and procurement process for capital goods, including machinery, equipment, IT infrastructure, and construction services.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to identify best-in-class suppliers globally.
- Conduct thorough market research on capital equipment trends, technological advancements, and supplier capabilities.
- Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, payment terms, warranties, and service level agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships throughout the procurement lifecycle,



ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, finance, and project management teams to define requirements and project timelines.
- Develop and manage the budget for capital expenditures related to procurement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed bid packages, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations for award.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning support of new capital equipment as needed.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, specifically focused on capital goods and major equipment.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and managing large-value capital projects.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO), and risk management in procurement.
- Experience with international sourcing and managing global suppliers.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools relevant to capital expenditure.
