About the Role

Our client, a pioneering automotive technology company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Reliability and Test Engineer to join their distributed engineering team. This is a fully remote role where you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and robustness of automotive software systems, including those for infotainment, connectivity, and autonomous driving features. You will design and execute test strategies, develop automated test frameworks, and analyze test results to identify and resolve defects. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for automotive software applications.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using relevant tools and languages.
- Execute various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, integration, and system testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
- Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to development and product teams.
- Collaborate with software developers to understand product features and ensure adequate test coverage.




- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Work with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments and simulation tools.
- Ensure software meets automotive industry standards for safety and reliability (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Participate in agile development ceremonies and contribute to team goals in a remote setting.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with a focus on embedded systems or automotive software.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Shell) for test automation.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Jenkins, pytest).
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and tools is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective for remote work.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
