About the Role

Our client, an international leader in sustainable agriculture solutions, is seeking a highly knowledgeable Especialista en Riego y Manejo Hídrico Agrícola to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This position offers the unique opportunity to work from home anywhere in Mexico, contributing to cutting-edge water management strategies across diverse agricultural landscapes. The role focuses on advising clients and internal teams on the design, implementation, and optimization of irrigation systems, with a strong emphasis on water conservation and efficiency. You will analyze soil data, weather patterns, crop water requirements, and system performance to provide expert recommendations. The adecuado candidate will possess a deep understanding of hydraulic principles, agronomy, and water resource management technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in helping agricultural operations adapt to water scarcity and improve their environmental footprint. You will collaborate with a global team of experts, leveraging technology to drive sustainable water use in agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze soil types, topography, climate data, and crop water needs to design efficient irrigation strategies.
- Provide expert recommendations on the selection, installation, and maintenance of various irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, subsurface, etc.).
- Develop water management plans that prioritize conservation and optimize water use efficiency.
- Utilize remote sensing, GIS, and other technologies to monitor irrigation performance and detect potential issues (e.g., leaks, uneven distribution).
- Troubleshoot irrigation system problems and provide solutions to improve functionality and reduce water loss.
- Stay current with advancements in irrigation technology, water conservation techniques, and relevant regulations.




- Educate clients and field teams on best practices for water management and irrigation scheduling.
- Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to integrate irrigation plans with overall crop production strategies.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of water management tools and software.

Requirements

- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering (with a focus on hydraulics), Water Resources Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in agricultural irrigation design, implementation, and water management.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, soil-plant-water relationships, and irrigation scheduling principles.
- Experience with various irrigation technologies and equipment.
- Proficiency in using relevant software, including CAD for irrigation design, GIS, and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of water conservation techniques and sustainable irrigation practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to convey technical information clearly.
- Experience working remotely and managing time effectively is essential.
- Fluency in English is a strong asset for global collaboration.
