About the Role

Our client is a leading international mining company seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Gerente de Operaciones Mineras to lead their integral mining operations remotely. This is a unique, fully remote leadership position demanding strategic oversight, operational excellence, and a proven ability to manage diverse teams and complex projects across different geographies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale mining operations, a deep understanding of all facets of the mining lifecycle, and exceptional leadership and communication skills. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, safety, and profitability across all mining sites, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of providing effective leadership and decision-making without a physical presence at all sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's global mining operations from a remote location.
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve production, cost, and safety targets.
- Ensure the consistent application of best practices in mining, processing, health, safety, and environmental management across all sites.
- Monitor operational performance, analyze key metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to site-based operational managers and their teams.
- Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Manage operational budgets and capital expenditure, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations worldwide.




- Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to align operational strategies with corporate goals.
- Prepare comprehensive operational reports and present performance updates to the board and senior management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mining operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple, geographically dispersed mining operations.
- Extensive knowledge of various mining methods (open-pit and underground) and processing techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control for large operations.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders globally.
- Proficiency in mining software and ERP systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment, requiring self-discipline and excellent time management.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required to visit mine sites and meet with teams.
