About the Role

Our client, a progressive agricultural consultancy based in Cuernavaca, Morelos, is seeking a dedicated Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for conducting soil analyses, interpreting results, and developing tailored recommendations for fertilization and soil amendments. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive soil testing and analysis to assess fertility, pH, organic matter content, and nutrient levels.
- Interpret soil analysis results and diagnose nutrient deficiencies or imbalances in various crops.
- Develop precise and effective fertilization programs based on soil test results, crop needs, and environmental considerations.
- Provide expert recommendations on soil amendments, organic matter management, and liming.
- Advise farmers on best practices for nutrient application to maximize uptake efficiency and minimize environmental losses.
- Monitor the impact of implemented nutrient management strategies on crop yield and quality.
- Stay updated on the latest research and technologies in soil fertility and nutrient management.




- Educate farmers and agricultural stakeholders on the principles of soil health and sustainable nutrient management.
- Collaborate with agronomists and other agricultural professionals to provide integrated solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of soil tests, recommendations, and farm performance data for clients in the Cuernavaca area.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in soil fertility assessment, soil testing interpretation, and nutrient management recommendations.
- Proven ability to conduct and interpret soil analyses.
- Strong knowledge of soil chemistry, plant nutrition, and nutrient cycling in agricultural systems.
- Experience with various crops and agricultural systems prevalent in the Morelos region.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively advise farmers.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for data management and analysis.
- Commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices and soil conservation.
- Ability to work independently and manage client relationships.
