About the Role

Our client, a pioneering AgTech company, is seeking a talented Especialista Remoto en Datos Agrícolas y Analítica to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within Mexico. The role focuses on transforming raw agricultural data into actionable insights that drive decision-making for farmers and agricultural businesses. You will work with a wide array of datasets, including sensor data, satellite imagery, weather patterns, and yield reports, employing advanced analytical techniques and machine learning models. This position is idóneo for a data scientist or analyst with a passion for agriculture and a strong ability to interpret complex information. Your primary goal will be to develop predictive models, optimize farming operations, and enhance sustainable agricultural practices through data-driven solutions. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team of agronomists, software engineers, and other data specialists.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various agricultural sources. Develop, test, and deploy statistical models and machine learning algorithms for predictive analysis (e.g., yield forecasting, disease outbreak prediction). Analyze satellite imagery and sensor data to monitor crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors. Create insightful visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Identify trends and patterns in agricultural data to uncover opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains. Collaborate with software development teams to integrate analytical models into existing platforms and tools. Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and agricultural technology.



Contribute to the design and implementation of data collection strategies and infrastructure. Provide data-driven recommendations for improving crop yields, resource management, and sustainability. Document methodologies, code, and analytical processes thoroughly.

Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Agronomy with a strong quantitative focus, or a related field. Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning, preferably within the agricultural sector. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow). Experience with database management (SQL, NoSQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Familiarity with geospatial data analysis and remote sensing technologies. Strong understanding of agricultural principles and practices is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively in Spanish. Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting. Stable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup are required.
