Territory focus: Mexico City metropolitan area and southern Mexico
We are looking for a results-oriented Retail Key Account Manager to grow EZVIZ’s retail business in Mexico, with primary responsibility for Sears, Sanborns, Elektra, and Office Depot. The role also leads smart lock channel development, with a focus on Mexico City and southern Mexico.
You will combine retail account management with hands-on business development, working with buyers, distributors, store teams, and installation partners to increase sales, expand distribution, and build sustainable channel partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Retail key account management: Develop and manage relationships with Sears, Sanborns, Elektra, and Office Depot. Build joint business plans, secure product listings, and negotiate assortments, commercial terms, promotions, and visibility with buyers and category managers.
- Sales growth and profitability: Own account sales plans and monthly and quarterly targets. Drive sell-in and sell-out while managing margins, promotional investment, trade spending, and account profitability.
- Store expansion and execution: Expand store coverage and product availability. Coordinate shelf placement, displays, demo units, POS materials, store visits, and sales staff training to improve product visibility and conversion.
- Smart lock channel development: Identify, recruit, and develop distributors, hardware and door-hardware retailers, locksmiths, installers, security integrators, and relevant project partners. Build a qualified pipeline and convert opportunities into active partners and repeat orders.
- Partner onboarding and support: Define smart lock assortments and launch plans with new partners. Coordinate product demonstrations, sales training, door compatibility assessments, installation readiness,
and after-sales support with technical teams.
- Regional business development: Prioritize opportunities in Mexico City and southern Mexico. Plan regular customer and store visits, map regional channel potential, and build local partner networks while coordinating centrally negotiated retail account plans.
- Promotions and inventory: Plan retail campaigns, including El Buen Fin and seasonal promotions. Work with marketing, distributors, and supply chain teams on forecasts, replenishment, stock rotation, and reducing stockouts and aging inventory.
- Account operations and reporting: Coordinate orders, deliveries, payment follow-up, returns, and warranty issues with internal teams. Report sales, inventory, store coverage, new partner activation, pipeline progress, and competitor activity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of retail key account management or channel sales experience in Mexico, preferably in consumer electronics, smart home, home security, smart locks, or door hardware. Proven success in achieving sales targets and developing accounts is required.
- Retail account knowledge: Experience working with major Mexican retail chains, including buyer negotiations, vendor onboarding, product listings, promotional planning, and store execution. Direct experience with Sears, Sanborns, Elektra,
or Office Depot is strongly preferred.
- Smart lock business development: Ability to prospect, negotiate, onboard, and activate new channel partners. Experience or an established network in smart locks, hardware, locksmiths, installers, security integration, or property projects is a strong advantage.
- Commercial skills: Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with a practical understanding of retailer and distributor margins, trade terms, promotional funding, payment terms, and sell-in versus sell-out.
- Regional knowledge: Familiarity with the retail and distribution landscape in Mexico City and southern Mexico. Existing buyer, distributor, or installer relationships in these areas are an advantage.
- Product and operational awareness: Ability to explain product benefits and coordinate technical demonstrations, installation support, and after-sales service. Comfortable working with finance, logistics, marketing, and technical support teams.
- Analytical skills: Strong Excel skills and the ability to turn sales, inventory, and account performance data into clear actions. Experience with CRM tools and disciplined sales pipeline management is preferred.
- Languages: Native-level Spanish and professional working proficiency in English for regular meetings and reporting to regional and integral headquarters. Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required.
- Personal attributes: Proactive, results-driven, organized, and comfortable combining account planning with field sales and new channel development.
- Location and travel: Based in Mexico City, with authorization to work in Mexico and availability for regular travel across the metropolitan area and southern Mexico, plus other customer visits as needed.
