About the Role

Our client, a diversified manufacturing group, is seeking an experienced and strategic Gerente de Compras de Materiales Indirectos to lead their procurement efforts for non-production related goods and services in Morelia, Michoacán, MX . This critical role is responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies for a broad range of indirect categories, including facilities management, IT equipment, professional services, travel, and marketing. The idóneo candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of indirect spend management, and the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Your objective will be to drive cost savings, improve service levels, and ensure compliance across all indirect procurement activities. This position offers significant influence and the opportunity to make a substantial impact on operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for all indirect material and service categories.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers for contracts, pricing, and service level agreements.
- Manage and optimize spending across key indirect categories, identifying opportunities for consolidation and cost reduction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners to understand their needs and ensure procurement alignment.
- Oversee the supplier selection and onboarding process, ensuring due diligence and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
- Manage procurement processes using ERP systems and other procurement tools.




- Identify and implement best practices in indirect procurement and spend management.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals focused on indirect sourcing.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect materials and services.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful indirect sourcing strategies and achieving significant cost savings.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience managing diverse supplier relationships and complex contracts.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement tools.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in Spanish.
- English proficiency is highly valued.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
