Our client is hiring Senior AI Engineers in Mexico City on a contract basis. You will build production agentic AI systems that use LLMs and Vision-Language Models to automate visual and media workflows. The role is backend-focused, with room to own the product end to end. Senior and principal-level candidates are welcome. Fluent English is required.

What you’ll do

- Build agentic harnesses and pipelines: tool use, multi-step reasoning, RAG, streaming, state management and multimodal integration.
- Integrate and evaluate LLMs, VLMs, open-source models and third-party AI APIs.
- Build scalable Python/FastAPI services and production APIs (REST, streaming, async).
- Design event-driven and batch workflows for high-volume job orchestration (queues, EventBridge, DynamoDB Streams).
- Run AI evaluation: eval datasets, regression evals, LLM-as-judge, human-in-the-loop review and production monitoring.
- Work with cloud infrastructure, Terraform and CI/CD (Docker, GitHub Actions).
- Contribute to search and retrieval systems (lexical and embedding-based).




- Contribute to React/TypeScript frontends when needed.

What you bring

- Production experience building agentic AI systems with LLMs/VLMs, beyond prototypes.
- Experience evaluating AI systems for quality and reliability.
- Strong backend fundamentals: APIs, async workflows, observability and production support.
- Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, Azure and/or GCP).
- Experience with the C4 model and other design artifacts.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

- Technical lead or principal engineer experience, including mentoring.
- Search and information retrieval at scale (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, vector search).
- Digital or broadcast media workflows; video or multimodal AI.
- Terraform and serverless architecture.
- Agent frameworks: LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK.
- Image/video tools (FFmpeg, OpenCV); fine-tuning experience (LoRA, PEFT).
