The Role
We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Lead to own revenue recognition under ASC 606 and the revenue close at a high-growth US company, working remotely from Mexico.
This is the senior individual contributor seat in the area: you will own the hardest reconciliations and judgment calls, review the work of others, and be the first escalation point for the team and for auditors.
What You'll Own
Contract review.
Review customer contracts and identify performance obligations, variable consideration, and SSP.
Revenue schedules.
Maintain revenue waterfalls and deferred revenue, tied to billing and the GL.
Revenue close.
Own the revenue close, including unbilled receivables and contract assets.
Policy.
Write and maintain the revenue recognition policy and memos for non-standard deals.




Deal desk partnership.
Advise sales and deal desk on how terms affect revenue timing before contracts are signed.
Review and coaching.
Review entries and reconciliations prepared by others, and coach junior accountants on how to get them right the first time.
What We're Looking For
6+ years of accounting experience
Experience reviewing other accountants' work and resolving complex reconciling items
Working knowledge of ASC 606 applied to real contracts
US GAAP experience, or strong NIF (Mexico) or IFRS experience with exposure to US clients or entities
Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe, or Chargebee
Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
Preferred
Contador Público Certificado (CPC), US CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (completed or in progress)
Experience with revenue automation tools such as RightRev, Zuora Revenue, or NetSuite ARM
Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output

Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
