About MAVI
MAVI places experienced finance and accounting professionals into senior, high-ownership roles at high-growth US companies. Founded in **** and backed by a $4 million seed round led by Harlem Capital, MAVI was recently featured in TechCrunch.
Our professionals join in-house finance teams in full-time, long-term roles, not short-term projects. The companies we work with range from venture- and PE-backed businesses to public companies and CFO advisory firms, including Athena Club, MotherDuck, and Within.
The work centers on judgment. As AI takes over more routine finance work, the people who review the output, question it, and own the result matter more than ever. MAVI professionals work alongside US finance leaders, using AI tools to do more and applying the judgment to catch what those tools get wrong. At one client, an AR dashboard now used across the organization was built almost entirely by MAVI talent.
We stay involved throughout, from role alignment and interview preparation to onboarding and long-term career development.
The Role
We are seeking an FP&A; Manager to own budgeting, forecasting, and planning at a US consumer goods company, working remotely from Mexico.
You will lead planning for your area, set the forecasting process others follow, and act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, while still building the most important models yourself.
You will plan around the drivers specific to a US consumer goods company, not a generic template.
What You'll Own
Forecasts.
Build and maintain driver-based revenue, headcount, and operating expense forecasts.
Operating plan.
Own the annual operating plan and the rolling forecast for the company.
Variance analysis.
Produce budget-versus-vigente analysis with clear explanations of business drivers.
Trade and pricing.
Analyze trade spend ROI, pricing, and retailer profitability.
S&OP.;
Support sales and operations planning with volume and margin scenarios.
Planning process.
Run the budget and reforecast calendar for your area and hold stakeholders to it.
Developing analysts.
Review analysts' models and coach them on structure, assumptions, and storytelling.
What We're Looking For
6+ years of FP&A;, corporate finance, or analytical finance experience
Experience leading a planning cycle and presenting to senior leadership
Understanding of the three financial statements and how operating assumptions flow through them
Experience with CPG pricing, trade spend, or retail sales analysis
Experience with tools such as Adaptive, Pigment, Mosaic, or Causal
Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
Preferred
CFA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or an MBA in Finance
Experience with US companies or global stakeholders
Experience with retailer portals or deduction management tools
Experience using AI tools in finance workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
Who This Role Is For
A finance leader who still enjoys building the model, and who earns a seat in decisions by being right about the drivers. Experience in consumer goods (cpg) matters here: you will spend less time learning how the business makes money and more time improving how it is measured.
