The Role
We are seeking an Equity Accountant to own stock-based compensation and equity accounting at a high-growth US company, working remotely from Mexico.
You will own your workstream end to end with light review, working directly with the Controller or Accounting Manager. Where the process relies on manual workarounds, you will be expected to fix it rather than repeat it.
What You'll Own
Stock compensation.
Calculate ASC 718 expense, forfeitures, and modifications.
Cap table.
Reconcile the cap table to the equity accounts and the GL.
Valuations.
Coordinate 409A valuations and the inputs behind them.
Financings.
Record SAFEs, preferred stock, warrants, and convertible notes.




Equity disclosures.
Prepare equity footnotes and audit support.
Audit support.
Prepare the PBC schedules for your areas and answer auditor questions directly.
What We're Looking For
4+ years of accounting experience
Experience owning a workstream through the close without day-to-day supervision
Experience with ASC 718 stock-based compensation
US GAAP experience, or strong NIF (Mexico) or IFRS experience with exposure to US clients or entities
Experience with Carta, Pulley, or Shareworks, plus NetSuite or a similar ERP
Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
Preferred
Contador Público Certificado (CPC), US CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (completed or in progress)
Experience with Carta, Shareworks, or Equity Edge
Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output

Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
