The Role We are seeking a Technical Product Lead for Spanish Voice AI to advance Presto’s Spanish-language Voice AI product, which is already live in production with leading restaurant brands. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role at the intersection of large language models (LLMs), conversational AI, and real-time production systems. You will own the technical roadmap for our Spanish Voice AI, build on its proven foundation to deliver new capabilities, and shape the direction of our next generation of multilingual innovation. We are looking for someone who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with deep Spanish-language fluency and a passion for building AI solutions. You should be equally comfortable writing production code, evaluating model performance, and working with leadership on technical priorities. While Spanish Voice AI will be your primary focus, you will also help build Presto’s broader Voice AI platform.

What You'll Do
Lead Spanish Voice AI Development
• Own the architecture, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of Presto's Spanish-language voice ordering experience.
• Drive measurable improvements in speech recognition accuracy, order automation rates, conversational quality, and overall guest experience.
• Develop solutions that account for regional Spanish dialects, colloquialisms, and natural conversational patterns.
• Establish technical standards and best practices for Spanish-language Voice AI and apply relevant learnings across the broader platform. Build and Optimize Production AI Systems
• Lead the full development lifecycle, from initial prototyping and experimentation through production deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Improve system latency, accuracy, scalability, reliability,



and overall performance.
• Develop and maintain scalable, production-ready AI applications.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices, testing standards, and deployment processes. Develop LLM-Based Solutions
• Design, implement, and optimize LLM-powered systems using APIs, custom models, and modern AI development tools.
• Develop and refine prompt engineering strategies, model evaluation frameworks, and iterative improvement processes.
• Evaluate model performance and identify opportunities to improve conversational accuracy, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Address challenges related to Spanish-language understanding, regional variations, and real-world conversational complexity. Drive Data Quality and Model Evaluation
• Develop and improve data pipelines for cleaning, structuring, filtering, and analyzing real-world production data.
• Establish evaluation methodologies and quality standards for Spanish-language training, validation, and testing datasets.
• Analyze production performance data to identify recurring issues, improve model outputs, and guide technical improvements.
• Ensure data quality and evaluation processes support reliable, scalable AI solutions. Collaborate Across Teams
• Partner closely with ASR, Product, Engineering, and Menu Operations teams to identify and resolve challenges across the Voice AI pipeline.
• Translate complex business and customer challenges into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and project progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the broader AI platform. What We're Looking For
• Professional or near-native fluency in Spanish, with a strong understanding of regional dialects, colloquialisms, and natural spoken language.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or a related technical field, including hands-on experience with applied AI systems.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying LLM-based applications in production environments.
• Experience working with speech recognition, Voice AI, ASR, or conversational AI technologies.




• Strong proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable backend systems.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and deploying production systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, data structures, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to independently drive technical projects from concept through deployment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Nice to Have
• Experience developing or optimizing real-time, low-latency AI systems.
• Experience building multilingual or Spanish-language AI applications.
• Experience working with noisy, unstructured, real-world datasets at scale.
• Experience designing and maintaining end-to-end machine learning pipelines.
• Experience with conversational AI evaluation, speech processing, or speech-to-text technologies.
