About the Role
Our client, an international consultancy firm specializing in urban development and planning, is seeking a visionary Arquitecto de Planeación Urbana Remoto . This position is fully remote and offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of cities through strategic planning and design. You will lead the development of comprehensive urban plans, zoning regulations, and development strategies for diverse urban environments, potentially including projects with a connection to Tijuana . The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of urban dynamics, sustainable development principles, strong analytical skills, and expertise in GIS and urban planning software. You will collaborate with government agencies, developers, and community stakeholders to create resilient, equitable, and vibrant urban spaces. This role demands strategic thinking, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex planning processes in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of master plans, zoning ordinances, and land use plans for cities and regions.

Conduct urban research, data analysis, and spatial assessments to inform planning decisions.

Develop strategies for sustainable urban development, including transportation, housing, and public spaces.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, environmental scientists, social planners) in a remote environment.

Engage with stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and private developers, to gather input and build consensus.

Prepare planning reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate complex planning concepts.

Utilize GIS software for spatial analysis, mapping,



and visualization of urban data.

Stay abreast of global best practices in urban planning, resilience, and smart city initiatives.

Ensure compliance with relevant planning laws and regulations.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables for urban planning projects.

Requirements

Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a related field with an urban planning focus.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in urban planning, design, or related fields.

Expertise in urban planning principles, land use law, and development regulations.

Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and related spatial analysis tools.

Experience with urban design visualization tools and software.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

Proven ability to manage projects and lead teams remotely.

Knowledge of sustainable urban development and climate adaptation strategies.

Membership in professional planning organizations is a plus.
