About the Role
Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Researcher in Particle Physics and Detection to join their fully remote, world-class Research and Development team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the forefront of fundamental physics research, focusing on the development of advanced detection technologies and the analysis of experimental data from high-energy physics experiments. You will play a key role in designing, simulating, and validating new detector concepts and contributing to the interpretation of experimental results. The ideal candidate will possess a deep theoretical understanding of particle physics, extensive experience with detector technologies, and a strong background in data analysis and scientific computing. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for discovery and a proven track record of scientific excellence and collaboration within a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead research efforts in the design, development, and testing of advanced particle detectors.

Develop simulation frameworks for particle interactions and detector responses.

Analyze large datasets from particle physics experiments using sophisticated statistical and computational techniques.

Contribute to the interpretation of experimental results and their implications for theoretical models.

Collaborate with international research teams and experimental collaborations.

Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.

Mentor junior researchers and graduate students.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in particle physics and detector technology.





Requirements

Ph.D. in Physics, specializing in High Energy Physics, Particle Physics, or Experimental Nuclear Physics.

Minimum of 6 years of postdoctoral research experience in experimental particle physics.

Demonstrated expertise in the design, construction, and/or operation of particle detectors (e.g., silicon trackers, calorimeters, tracking chambers).

Strong experience in data analysis using tools such as ROOT, Python, C++.

Proficiency in Monte Carlo simulations (e.g., Geant4).

Excellent theoretical understanding of the Standard Model and beyond.

Proven ability to work independently and lead research projects within a remote team structure.

Strong publication record and experience presenting research at international forums.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
