We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to support a U.S.-based organization in a Client Accounting Services environment. This role combines U.S. accounting, tax compliance, and recurring accounting operations. The successful candidate will independently manage assigned processes, maintain clear supporting documentation, and communicate effectively with U.S.-based stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for U.S. accounting.
- Prepare and file Form 1099s and U.S. sales tax returns.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing, payment application, and follow-up on discrepancies.
- Perform bank, corporate card, and balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve reconciling items.
- Prepare and maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue.
- Review payroll reports provided by the company’s U.S.-based PEO and prepare related accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Process customer or business orders and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve routine accounting and processing issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience working with a U.S. CPA firm.
- Hands-on experience preparing Form 1099s and filing U.S. sales tax returns.
- Hands-on experience with the year-end close process in U.S. accounting.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
- C1 English proficiency, written and spoken.
- Experience with an ERP or accounting platform and the ability to work independently with documented processes.
- Availability to work in alignment with New York business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Accounting Seed, Salesforce, or another Salesforce-based accounting platform.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based companies or clients.
- Familiarity with U.S. payroll reports and working with a PEO.
- Strong Excel skills and experience documenting or improving recurring processes.
