Technical Product Manager (Fractional, Remote)FanEngine AI | Remote | Part-Time Contract | Cash + Equity Help Build the Intelligence Layer for the Creator EconomyThe next generation of iconic brands is being built on social media. But behind the scenes, the data powering these businesses is fragmented across dozens of platforms, leaving creators and their teams without a complete picture of their fans, customers, and revenue. FanEngine is changing that. We're building an AI-native platform that unifies audience, engagement, and commerce data into a living fan graph, giving creators, artists, and entertainment brands the intelligence they need to grow beyond the algorithms. Our platform doesn't just organize data. It makes that data actionable through AI agents that can uncover opportunities, identify superfans, and drive real business outcomes. We're looking for a hands-on Technical Product Manager who is excited about building at the intersection of AI, data, and the creator economy. You'll work directly with our founders to turn ambitious product ideas into real features used by creators and entertainment brands. We're building FanEngine differently. Our development process is AI-native, leveraging Claude and AI coding tools to move from concept to production at startup speed. We need someone who thrives in that environment, understands how modern software is built, and can bring the technical clarity and product discipline that allow a small team to move incredibly fast. The RoleWe're hiring a highly technical, AI-native Product Manager to help us maximize the output of a lean, fast-moving engineering team. You'll work directly with our CEO, who sets product priorities, and our fractional CTO, who leads architecture and development using Claude and AI coding tools. Your job is to translate priorities into clear, buildable specifications, keep development moving, and ensure what ships meets the needs of our customers. We're deliberately building a small, AI-leveraged team rather than a traditional engineering organization. That means we value people who can think technically, work independently, solve problems, and use AI to multiply their output. This is initially a remote, part-time contract role of approximately 8 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand as the product and company grow. Compensation includes cash and equity. You can work from anywhere, with at least four hours of overlap with US Pacific time on the days you work. The Tech StackFanEngine is built on modern cloud infrastructure and AI-native development workflows.
• Application: Next.js, TypeScript, Vercel
• AI development: Claude, Claude Code, and AI-assisted engineering workflows
• Integrations: Customer.io, ManyChat, Shopify, and other creator commerce and marketing platforms
• AI connectivity: MCP connectors that allow Claude and other AI agents to interact with FanEngine data
• Product management: Linear, Git,
and lightweight documentation and collaboration tools You don't need to be an expert in every tool, but you should be comfortable understanding how these systems connect and working directly with technical implementations.
What You'll Do
Turn Product Ideas Into Buildable Specifications
• Work directly with the CEO to translate product priorities into clear technical requirements.
• Write detailed, AI-ready specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and example data.
• Break features into appropriately scoped Linear tickets that can be executed with minimal back-and-forth.
• Identify technical dependencies, potential issues, and opportunities to simplify implementation before development begins.
• Maintain a clear, prioritized backlog that reflects business impact and engineering capacity. Maximize Engineering Productivity
• Ensure our CTO can spend the majority of available development time building rather than clarifying requirements or managing process.
• Use Claude and other AI tools to research technical approaches, prepare specifications, prototype workflows, and investigate bugs.
• Independently handle smaller technical tasks and improvements when appropriate.
• Keep development moving by resolving ambiguity, identifying blockers, and preparing upcoming work.
• Help establish an efficient product development process designed specifically for a small, AI-native team. Own Product Quality and Releases
• Test completed features against specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct user acceptance testing, identify edge cases, and document bugs with clear reproduction steps.
• Validate that integrations, data flows, and customer-facing functionality work as intended.
• Coordinate release readiness and maintain concise release notes.
• Reduce engineering rework by catching issues early and ensuring features are properly defined before development. Translate Customer Needs Into Product Improvements
• Work with our commercial and creator success teams to understand customer feedback, friction points, and feature requests.
• Translate business problems into clear product requirements.
• Help prioritize improvements based on customer value, technical effort, and business impact.
• Develop a strong understanding of how creators manage their audiences, commerce, and fan relationships. Support Integrations and AI Agent Capabilities
• Map how audience and commerce data flows between FanEngine and platforms such as Shopify, ManyChat, and Kit..
• Define requirements for APIs, webhooks, data ingestion, and third-party integrations.
• Help develop and improve our customer-facing MCP connectors and AI agent workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate internal processes and reduce manual work.
• Maintain technical product documentation so the team can move quickly without unnecessary meetings. What We're Looking ForRequired
• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably involving data platforms, CRM, CDP, martech, SaaS, or technically complex software.
• Strong technical fluency, including comfort with APIs, webhooks, data structures, Git, and reading a TypeScript codebase.
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed specifications that engineers or AI coding tools can execute without extensive clarification.
• Hands-on experience using Claude, Claude Code, or similar AI tools for product development, prototyping, analysis, or technical problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with limited oversight.
• Experience working closely with engineers to define, test, and ship software.
• Strong written English and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve and processes are still being built.
• Careful handling of customer data, privacy, and sensitive information. Nice to Have
• Experience in the creator economy, music, entertainment, influencer marketing, or creator monetization.
• Background building or managing CRM, customer data, identity resolution, or marketing automation products.
• Experience with Customer.io, ManyChat, Shopify, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with MCP servers, Claude Skills, AI agents, and agent-driven workflows.
• Ability to independently implement smaller features, integrations, or fixes using AI coding tools.
• Experience shipping 0-to-1 B2B SaaS products.
• Previous experience in fractional product roles or early-stage startups.
• Familiarity with pricing, packaging, or product-led growth. What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 30 to 60 days:
• Our CTO spends significantly less time clarifying requirements and more time building.
• Product priorities are consistently translated into clear, actionable specifications before development begins.
• Features move from idea to release with fewer delays, misunderstandings, and rounds of rework.
• Bugs and quality issues are identified and documented before they reach customers whenever possible.
• We have a lightweight, repeatable product development process that works for a small team and scales as we grow.
• You're using AI tools proactively to increase your own output and reduce the workload on engineering. Ultimately, your success will be measured by how much more effectively our team can build and ship great products, not by how many meetings you run or tickets you create.
