Immigration Paralegal — H-1B / TN / EB-3
LATAM Partners | Supporting a U.S.-Based Employer
Overview:
LATAM Partners is seeking a detail oriented Immigration Paralegal to support a U.S.-based company that sponsors skilled international professionals for employment in the United States. This position is based at our offices in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and requires hands-on experience with employment-based immigration petitions, strong written English, and the ability to manage a high volume of cases with precision.
This is a transactional, deadline driven role. The client has 30+ active cases and 70+ more in the pipeline. You will own full case preparation from intake through filing, with the client's attorney reviewing and signing off.
Key Responsibilities:
Petition Preparation:
- Prepare complete H-1B, H-1B1, TN, and EB-3 petition packages: Form I-129, Form I-140, Labor Condition Applications (LCA), supporting letters, and required exhibits.
- Draft employer support letters and job descriptions aligned with DOL prevailing wage requirements.
Change of Status & Concurrent Filings:
- Manage transitions from H-1B1 to H-1B and concurrent EB-3 filings.
- Track I-94 expiration dates and prioritize cases to avoid status gaps; flag cases requiring premium processing.
Case Tracking & Deadlines:
- Maintain an organized case tracker with filing status, RFE deadlines, and expiration dates for every candidate.
- Monitor USCIS case status and escalate issues promptly.
Document Collection & Review:
- Coordinate with candidates to collect degrees, transcripts, credential evaluations, passports, and employment records.
- Review all documentation for completeness and accuracy before attorney review.
RFE & Client Communication:
- Draft responses to Requests for Evidence under attorney supervision.
- Serve as point of contact between candidates,
the client's HR team, and the supervising attorney.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (Mexico) or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years preparing employment-based immigration petitions (H-1B, TN, or EB-3). Experience with H-1B1 (Chile/Singapore) is a strong plus.
- Language: English B2 minimum, C1 preferred — spoken and written. You will draft support letters and communicate with U.S. counterparts daily.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of LCA requirements, prevailing wage determinations, and USCIS filing procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail — a missed deadline or incomplete package has real consequences.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.
- Proactive communication: you ask for what you need and flag problems early.
- Discretion with sensitive personal and immigration information.
Preferred:
- Experience with immigration case management software (INSZoom, Docketwise, LawLogix, or similar).
- Prior work with a U.S. immigration law firm.
- Familiarity with PERM labor certification.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM Guadalajara time (aligned with Pacific Time).
Compensation:
- MXN $25,000–$30,000/month, based on experience.
- Performance-based bonus plan tied to filing volume and accuracy.
Work Location:
- On-Site at LATAM Partners, Guadalajara, Jalisco. This is not a remote position.
Benefits:
- Private Health Insurance (Sofía Business).
- External accounting service included.
- Career Growth Opportunities: the client intends to build a team of immigration paralegals as their pipeline expands, and strong performers will have the opportunity to take on lead responsibilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
