Job Title: Network Security Engineer – remote MX Role Description: The Network Security Engineer will be working with regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance teams to address findings and meet remediation deadlines. This person will leverage security engineering expertise to perform firewall rule reviews, rule recertifications, cleanup initiatives, and rule-set optimization. In addition, the Network Security Engineer will support audit remediation activities. Primary Duties &

Responsibilities:
• Perform firewall rule reviews, rule recertifications, cleanup initiatives, and rule-set optimization.
• Review network security controls, firewall policies, rule lifecycle management, and access governance.
• Support audit remediation activities, including evidence collection, documentation, issue tracking, and action-item closure.
• Analyze firewall rules for compliance, security risks, and operational effectiveness while working with regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance teams to address findings and meet remediation deadlines.
• Support evidence analysis, identify gaps or inconsistencies, summarize control information, and assist control owners and risk teams throughout the assessment lifecycle.
• Improve traceability and audit readiness by maintaining structured records of evidence, approvals,



assessments, decisions, and supporting documentation.
• Support regulatory, audit, and risk management activities through automated evidence collection, workflow tracking, and reporting. Education &

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant field/equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication (both English/Spanish) is a required
• 5+ years of experience in Network Security, with a strong focus on firewall governance, operations, and remediation
• Strong experience with network security configuration and hardening
• Prior experience with VPN and firewall security management
• Previous experience in Security automation and AI-driven reviews, Security monitoring and threat analysis and Vulnerability management and audit support
• Hands-on experience managing and reviewing firewall rule bases (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and ticketing/tracking platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Desire Requirements (Not Mandatory):
• Knowledge of automation, scripting, or AI-assisted security operations is highly desirable
