About the Role

Our client, a national leader in the food and beverage industry, is seeking a meticulous and insightful Cost and Budget Analyst to join their remote team. This position is crucial for driving financial efficiency and profitability across various operational units. The idóneo candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost accounting principles within the food and beverage sector. You will be responsible for analyzing cost data, developing accurate budgets, monitoring variances, and providing actionable recommendations to management. This is a remote role, requiring a high degree of self-motivation, excellent data analysis capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely. You will play a vital role in optimizing financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze historical cost data to identify trends, efficiencies, and potential savings opportunities in food and beverage operations
- Develop, maintain, and refine annual budgets and forecasts for various departments and projects
- Monitor actual expenditures against budget, investigate significant variances, and provide detailed explanations
- Prepare regular financial reports, including variance analyses, cost performance reviews, and budget status updates
- Collaborate with department heads to gather information, understand their budgetary needs, and ensure accurate forecasting
- Assist in the implementation of cost control measures and track their effectiveness
- Evaluate the financial feasibility of new projects, menu items, and operational changes




- Utilize financial modeling techniques to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data related to costs and budgets
- Streamline cost tracking and reporting processes for greater efficiency

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost analysis, budgeting, or financial planning, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience with ERP systems or financial planning software is a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively and prioritize tasks
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace
