About the Role

Our client, a renowned film and production company based in Toluca, State of Mexico , is seeking a highly creative and skilled Maquillador Competente de Efectos Especiales. This hybrid role will involve both on-location work for various production projects and remote tasks such as research, material sourcing, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to create realistic prosthetics, injuries, aging effects, and creature makeup. You will collaborate closely with directors, costume designers, and other members of the creative team to bring unique visions to life. Key Responsibilities

- Design and apply special effects makeup, including prosthetics, wounds, scars, and aging techniques.
- Create and apply creature and fantasy makeup for characters.
- Collaborate with the director and production team to conceptualize and execute makeup designs.
- Source and manage materials, including latex, silicone, hair, and other prosthetics supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized makeup station and kit, both on-set and at home.
- Adapt makeup designs to suit different actors, skin tones, and shooting conditions.
- Work efficiently on set, often under time constraints, to ensure timely completion of makeup applications.
- Maintain detailed records of makeup designs, materials used, and application processes.




- Stay abreast of the latest trends, techniques, and products in special effects makeup.
- Ensure all makeup applications are safe for the skin and comply with industry standards.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Special Effects Makeup Artist, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of materials and application methods for prosthetics, molds, and creature effects.
- Ability to sculpt, cast, and apply silicone, latex, and foam latex appliances.
- Proficiency in makeup application for film, television, or theater.
- Strong understanding of color theory and skin tones.
- Excellent artistic and creative skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing on-site duties and remote tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with production teams.
- Willingness to travel to various filming locations as required.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and sanitation standards in makeup application.
