About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Accountant with a strong focus on audit readiness and internal controls to join their finance department in Culiacán, Sinaloa, MX. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of financial data, facilitating smooth external audits, and strengthening internal control processes. The idóneo candidate will have extensive experience in accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit procedures, coupled with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. This position adopts a hybrid work model, combining in-office responsibilities at our Culiacán, Sinaloa, MX location with remote work flexibility. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and execute accounting operations, ensuring adherence to accounting standards (NIF) and company policies.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Lead the coordination and facilitation of external audits, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
- Reconcile complex accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to financial reporting and internal controls.




- Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Support the Finance Manager with financial analysis and special projects.
- Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with significant exposure to audit processes.
- Strong understanding of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF) and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience working with external auditors is essential.
- CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
