About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, seeks a dedicated and experienced Labor Lawyer to join their esteemed legal department in Guadalajara, Jalisco . This role is critical for providing comprehensive legal counsel on all aspects of labor and employment law, ensuring the company's adherence to national and international regulations. The adecuado candidate will have a strong background in advising businesses on employee relations, compliance, litigation, and strategic HR initiatives. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of navigating the complexities of labor law with precision and integrity. This is a full-time, in-office position, offering the opportunity to be deeply integrated within the legal team and contribute directly to the company's success in Guadalajara, Jalisco .

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert legal advice on all labor and employment law matters, including hiring, terminations, compensation, benefits, and workplace safety.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies.
- Represent the company in labor litigation, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations.
- Ensure compliance with current labor laws, regulations, and collective agreements.
- Conduct internal investigations and advise on disciplinary actions.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.




- Conduct legal training for HR personnel and management on labor law topics.
- Advise on labor aspects of corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and case law impacting employment law.

Requirements

- Law degree (LLB or JD) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
- Admitted to practice law in Mexico.
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican labor legislation, including the Federal Labor Law and related regulations.
- Proven experience in handling labor disputes and litigation.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish.
- Commitment to working in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
