About the Role

Our client, a prominent entity in the financial technology sector, is seeking a dedicated Defensive Cybersecurity Specialist to bolster their Security Operations Center (SOC). This role is based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas , and is crucial for safeguarding the company's digital assets and sensitive information against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, investigating potential incidents, implementing countermeasures, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our defensive security posture. The adecuado candidate has a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, incident response methodologies, and various security tools. This hybrid position requires a balance of on-site collaboration for critical operations and remote flexibility for monitoring and analysis, ensuring operational readiness and team synergy within the Tuxtla Gutiérrez office. Key Responsibilities

- Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) for suspicious activities and potential threats.
- Investigate security alerts and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
- Respond to security incidents according to established protocols, coordinating containment and eradication efforts.
- Develop and implement security hardening measures for systems and networks.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
- Analyze threat intelligence to anticipate and mitigate emerging risks.




- Contribute to the development and refinement of security policies and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT teams on security best practices.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and defense techniques.
- Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on defensive operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
- Strong understanding of network security, operating system security (Windows, Linux), and cloud security concepts.
- Knowledge of common attack vectors, malware analysis, and forensic techniques.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, demonstrating responsibility and initiative.
- Experience within the Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas region is a plus.
