About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services and APIs.

- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions.
- Write high‑quality, well‑tested, and maintainable code in languages like Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
- Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, fostering their technical growth and ensuring code quality through rigorous reviews.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
- Drive best practices in software development, including CI/CD, testing strategies, and system monitoring.
- Contribute to technical decision‑making and strategic planning for the engineering department.




- Ensure the security and integrity of data and systems.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Proven expertise in designing and building complex, scalable distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js) and their associated frameworks.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
- Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching mechanisms.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams.
- Experience working effectively in a remote, agile environment.
