About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge biotechnology firm located in Morelia, Michoacán, MX , is actively seeking a visionary Director of Innovation and Development. This executive role is responsible for spearheading the company's research and development efforts, driving the creation of novel products and solutions, and fostering a culture of innovation. Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the company's research and development (R&D;) pipeline.
- Develop and implement the innovation strategy, identifying new opportunities for growth.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to market launch.
- Manage R&D; budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively.
- Foster collaborations with academic institutions, research partners, and industry leaders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and intellectual property guidelines.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of scientists and researchers.
- Stay current with scientific advancements and emerging technologies in the biotechnology sector.
- Prepare and present R&D; proposals, progress reports, and outcomes to the executive team and board.
- Drive a culture of scientific excellence,

Requirements

- Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D;, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing new products from concept to market.
- Extensive knowledge of drug discovery, development processes, and regulatory affairs.
- Exceptional scientific acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
- Experience with intellectual property management and patent strategy.
- Ability to secure research grants and manage external funding is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
