About the Role

Our client, a leader in sustainable agricultural solutions, is looking for a dedicated and expert Especialista en Riego y Gestión Hídrica . This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from any location. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing irrigation strategies for diverse agricultural projects, focusing on water conservation and efficiency. This role is crucial for maximizing crop yields while minimizing water usage, especially in water-scarce regions. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of hydrological principles, irrigation technologies, and their application in modern farming. You will advise clients and internal teams on best practices for water management, leveraging data and advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design efficient irrigation systems tailored to specific crop needs, soil types, and environmental conditions.
- Develop water management plans that promote conservation and sustainability.
- Monitor irrigation system performance and water usage, identifying areas for optimization.
- Analyze soil moisture data, weather patterns, and crop water requirements to determine optimal irrigation schedules.
- Provide expert consultation on water resource management, drainage, and drought mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend advanced irrigation technologies, such as drip irrigation, sensor-based systems, and fertigation.
- Train and support farm managers and technical staff on the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Collaborate with agronomists, engineers,



and other stakeholders to integrate water management into overall farm operations.
- Stay current with regulations and best practices in water resource management and agricultural water use.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering (with water focus), Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in irrigation design, water resource management, or agricultural hydrology.
- Proven expertise in various irrigation techniques and technologies (e.g., drip, sprinkler, sub-surface).
- Strong understanding of soil-water-plant relationships and water balance principles.
- Proficiency in using irrigation design software and water modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects remotely.
- Experience with remote sensing and GIS applications for water management is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
