About the Global Alliance for the Future of Food

The Global Alliance for the Future of Food is a strategic alliance of philanthropic foundations working together and with partners to transform global food systems. We leverage our collective resources and networks to catalyze action for food systems transformation grounded in principles of equity, interconnectedness, diversity, health, renewability, inclusion, and resilience. Our work includes three interconnected approaches: Convening & Field Building, Co-Creating Insights, and Collaborating for Action. Through these approaches, we connect funders and diverse partners, generate and share knowledge, and catalyze collaborative action from the local to the general level. The Global Alliance operates through a small, globally distributed Secretariat that is fiscally sponsored by Panorama Global. Our fiscal sponsor serves as our legal and administrative home and is responsible for core accounting, payroll, benefits administration, tax, audit, and regulatory compliance functions.

The Role

The Finance Manager is a new role providing oversight and leadership for ensuring that the Global Alliance has the financial information, planning, systems, and reporting needed to effectively deliver on our mission. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Finance Manager will lead the organizational budgeting process; oversee internal financial management and grant tracking; coordinate closely with our fiscal sponsor and Employers of Record; and manage the internal contracting process in close collaboration with our fiscal sponsor. The Finance Manager’s role will provide program leads with timely, accessible information regarding program budgets and financial commitments.

Because the Global Alliance is fiscally sponsored, this position does not serve as the organization’s accountant, controller, payroll administrator, or legal compliance officer. Those responsibilities sit with our fiscal sponsor and Employers of Record.

This is a hands-on role requiring nonprofit finance experience, a combination of financial stewardship with sound organizational judgment, and a commitment to building simple, effective administrative processes that enable the organization to focus on advancing the mission.

This role is fully remote, with a 4-day work week.
