About the Role

Our client, a leading construction and development company with a strong regional presence, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Jefe de Presupuestos y Costos de Obra to manage financial planning and control for their projects in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, MX . This critical role involves developing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets throughout their lifecycle, and implementing cost-saving strategies while maintaining project quality and scope. The adecuado candidate will have a deep understanding of construction economics, strong quantitative skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring the financial viability and success of our client's diverse construction endeavors. Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for various construction projects, from initial concept to final detailed design.
- Monitor and control project expenditures , tracking actual costs against budgeted amounts and forecasting future expenses.
- Analyze project financial performance , identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for project stakeholders and senior management.
- Review and analyze bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Implement cost-saving measures and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality or scope.
- Manage change order processes , assessing the cost impact of scope modifications.




- Collaborate with procurement and project management teams to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate cost databases and historical cost information for future estimating.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in cost estimating, budgeting, and cost control within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in preparing detailed bids and project budgets for complex construction projects.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., @Risk, Primavera P6, specialized estimating tools) and MS Excel.
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and market costs .
- Strong communication and negotiation skills .
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with regular presence required in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, MX .
- Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational abilities.
