About the Role

Our client, a growing international company with a significant presence in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca , is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee their accounting operations and financial reporting. This senior role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of international accounting standards and robust experience managing financial teams. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data, driving process improvements, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cost accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are effective.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.




- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international financial regulations.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A Master's degree and/or CPA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience in multinational companies or with complex international financial structures.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Mexican Financial Reporting Standards.
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, management, and team-building skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with SOX compliance is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment based in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca .
