About the Role

Our client, a general leader in automotive components, is seeking a highly motivated Reliability and Testing Engineer to join their product development team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from your home base in or near Morelia, Michoápan, or any other remote location in Mexico. You will be responsible for ensuring the long-term reliability and durability of automotive components through rigorous testing and analysis. Your work will directly impact product quality and customer satisfaction by identifying potential failure modes and recommending design improvements. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive components.
- Design and conduct reliability tests, including HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening).
- Analyze test data to identify failure modes, assess component life, and determine root causes.
- Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and reliability predictions.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to implement design improvements based on test findings.
- Maintain detailed records of test setups, procedures, results, and analyses.
- Stay current with industry standards and best practices in reliability engineering.
- Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.




- Manage external testing labs and supplier reliability activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262 for functional safety, if applicable).

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in reliability engineering, product testing, or a related field, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles, statistical analysis, and experimental design.
- Experience with accelerated testing methodologies (HALT/HASS).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and familiarity with FMEA tools.
- Knowledge of automotive components and their failure mechanisms.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate remotely.
- Must be authorized to work remotely within Mexico.
