About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the hospitality sector in Acapulco, Guerrero, MX , is seeking a Senior General Accountant with significant Tax experience. This hybrid role is vital for managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations, and providing strategic financial support. You will oversee daily accounting functions, prepare financial statements, manage tax filings, and contribute to financial planning. Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with NIF.
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican federal and state tax regulations, including preparation and filing of all tax returns (ISR, IVA, etc.).
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.




- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and accounting standards, advising management accordingly.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (Contador Público Certificado) designation is mandatory.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on tax compliance and accounting in Mexico.
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican tax law (federal and state) and accounting principles (NIF).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Contpaqi) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion.
- Must be based in or willing to commute to Acapulco, Guerrero, MX.
