About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in data analytics, is seeking an experienced Ingeniero/a de Datos Senior to join their globally distributed, fully remote team. This is a pivotal role for an individual passionate about building and managing robust data pipelines, optimizing data storage, and ensuring data accessibility for analytics and machine learning initiatives. You will work with massive datasets, utilizing cutting‑edge technologies to transform raw data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud‑based data solutions. We are looking for a proactive problem‑solver who can design scalable and efficient data architectures. As a senior member, you will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic data initiatives. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, collaborating with a talented international team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of data science. Your expertise will be critical in empowering data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines for batch and real‑time data processing.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Develop data models and schemas to support analytical needs.
- Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data systems.




- Automate data processes and operations using scripting and relevant tools.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Data Factory).
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT tools.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and database design.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
