About the Role

Our client, a reputable organization in the hidrocarburos sector, is seeking a diligent Industrial Facilities Safety Engineer to join their team in Acapulco, Guerrero. This role is paramount in ensuring the safety and security of all industrial facilities, implementing robust safety protocols, and conducting risk assessments to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The engineer will work closely with facility management and operational teams to foster a strong safety culture. The adecuado candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of industrial safety management systems, hazard identification, and emergency response planning within the context of the oil and gas industry. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the well-being of personnel and the integrity of operations in the coastal city of Acapulco.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems for industrial facilities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified risks.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and international safety regulations.
- Develop and manage emergency preparedness and response plans.




- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Maintain safety records and prepare regular safety performance reports.
- Advise management on safety matters and recommend improvements.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial safety management, preferably within the hidrocarburos sector.
- Proven experience in conducting hazard identification and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, JSA).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to industrial operations.
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training.
- Strong understanding of emergency response procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work onsite at facilities in and around Acapulco, Guerrero.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
