About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized organization focused on sustainable development, is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant in Sustainable Agroecology. This is a remote position that requires a deep expertise in ecological farming principles, biodiversity conservation, and community-based agricultural development. You will be instrumental in advising organizations and communities on implementing practices that enhance environmental resilience, improve food security, and promote social equity. This role offers the unique opportunity to influence sustainable agricultural policies and projects worldwide, working flexibly from your home location.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert consultancy on the design, implementation, and evaluation of agroecological farming systems.
- Assess the environmental and social impact of agricultural practices and propose sustainable alternatives.
- Develop strategies and action plans to enhance biodiversity, soil health, and water management in agricultural landscapes.
- Advise governments, NGOs, and private sector clients on policies and projects related to sustainable agriculture and food systems.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions on agroecology and sustainable land management for diverse audiences.
- Conduct field research and case studies to document best practices and innovative approaches in sustainable agriculture.
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals and secure funding for agroecology projects.
- Stay current with scientific literature and global trends in agroecology, climate change adaptation,



and sustainable food systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, policymakers, and community leaders.

Requirements

- PhD or Master's degree in Agroecology, Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in agroecology, sustainable farming practices, and rural development.
- Demonstrated expertise in ecological principles, conservation agriculture, and organic farming methods.
- Proven track record in project management, consultancy, and stakeholder engagement in the agricultural sector.
- Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
- Excellent facilitation and communication abilities, with experience in training and capacity building.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages are a strong asset.
- Willingness to undertake occasional international travel for fieldwork and meetings.
