Build a company's Mexico business from the ground up, with a global manufacturer behind you.
A global automotive component manufacturer is expanding into Mexico and wants one senior leader in Querétaro to make it happen. This is a newly approved role, backed by the parent company, with a clear plan: win customers, build a local supplier network, and set up a local office, logistics hub and final assembly operation.
What you'll do
- Win new business with OEMs and Tier 1 and 2 suppliers across Mexico.
- Build the account strategy and pipeline from scratch.
- Find and assess local plastics, molding and assembly partners.
- Lead the setup of the local office, logistics and final assembly as the business grows, and hire the team behind it.
- Report to the VP Sales Americas and work closely with the US commercial team.
Who you are
- 10+ years in automotive sales or business development in Mexico, with a proven record of closing business with OEMs.
- Ideally from a component manufacturer, plastic or rubber molder, or contract manufacturer, where you did more than sell.
- Enough technical knowledge of tooling, molding or assemblies to judge a supplier on a site visit.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Based in Querétaro or willing to relocate there, and comfortable travelling across Mexico.
Why this role
Most senior automotive roles hand you a territory someone else built. This one asks you to build the territory. You'll lead the company's presence in one of the world's most important automotive markets, from Mexico, and grow the team and operation around you.
