About the Role

Our client, a prominent organization operating within the media and public relations sectors, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director de Comunicación y Asuntos Públicos to lead their initiatives in the vital coastal region, with a primary connection to Acapulco, Guerrero. This senior leadership position requires a visionary individual to shape and execute comprehensive communication strategies, manage public perception, and foster crucial relationships with government entities, community leaders, and the media. The adecuado candidate will possess extensive experience in public affairs, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement, coupled with a deep understanding of the regional socio-political landscape. This is a pivotal role to influence and guide the company's presence in a key area of Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement integrated communication and public affairs strategies for the assigned region.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with key government officials, community stakeholders, and media representatives.
- Serve as a senior advisor on public perception and potential reputational risks.
- Lead crisis communication and issue management efforts, ensuring effective and timely responses.
- Oversee the creation and dissemination of all official communications, statements, and policy positions.
- Monitor the political, social, and economic environment, providing strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Represent the company in public forums, conferences, and community engagements.




- Manage the communication and public affairs team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public affairs, government relations, or a senior PR leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder management, and crisis resolution.
- Proven ability to navigate complex political and regulatory environments.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in Spanish; fluency in English is a significant advantage.
- Deep understanding of the socio-political and economic landscape of coastal Mexico, especially Guerrero .
- Experience in leading teams and managing departmental budgets.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular presence required at our offices near Acapulco, Guerrero , and flexibility for travel.
