About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Cost and Estimating Engineer to join their team in Zapopan, Jalisco . This role is integral to the successful financial planning and execution of our diverse construction projects. The idóneo candidate will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts, as well as tracking project expenditures to ensure profitability. A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and market costs is essential. You will work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and engineers to provide critical cost insights and support strategic decision-making. This position offers a key role in ensuring the financial health and success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects at various stages, from conceptual design to final bid.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved financial plans.
- Analyze project costs, identifying potential overruns and recommending cost-saving measures.
- Perform quantity take-offs from blueprints and specifications.
- Research and maintain cost data for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with procurement to obtain accurate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.




- Prepare cost reports and present financial analyses to project management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the bidding and tendering process, providing detailed cost breakdowns.
- Monitor and control project expenditures throughout the construction lifecycle.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost engineering, estimating, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Proven ability to produce accurate and detailed cost estimates for diverse construction projects.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, Sage Estimating).
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial tools.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Experience in the construction market of Zapopan, Jalisco is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant tendering and contract procedures.
