- Combine innovation, research, collaboration, and engineering excellence to create industry-leading solutions.
- Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, connectivity, and user experience.
What You’ll Be Part Of
The Test Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, is responsible for leading all test development activities that support the global launch of products designed in North America. The AME Test Engineering team is engaged during the early phases of new product development to support RFQ activities, determine capital and labor estimates, and drive Design for Manufacturing Test (DFT) strategies that ensure quality, cost, and production targets are achieved.
This role is responsible for developing and applying advanced manufacturing test technologies, engineering principles, and innovative solutions to support product testing at both board and system assembly levels. The successful candidate will be recognized as a technical expert in manufacturing test software and hardware system design,
deployment, and operation while maintaining a broad understanding of related technologies and systems.
This position may have direct supervisory responsibility for 3 to 8 employees and will serve as a mentor and coach to technical colleagues and emerging engineering talent. The incumbent will also provide division-level technical leadership and mentorship within their area of expertise.
As part of the supervisory responsibilities, when resources are unavailable to support critical operations, the manager is expected to provide direct support or appropriately assign responsibilities to qualified personnel to ensure business continuity.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and manage the Advanced Manufacturing Test Engineering organization, including recruiting, employee development, performance management, resource planning, budget management, and continuous process improvement.
- Drive project management activities and resource allocation decisions across multiple programs.
- Lead complex test development projects involving multiple stakeholders while ensuring adherence to customer timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and successful program execution.
- Develop, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing test systems (software and hardware) to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and standardization across production environments.
- Lead Test Engineering teams in defining test plans, creating test strategies, maintaining required documentation, and analyzing test coverage.
- Define and implement software flashing strategies at IC, board, and final assembly levels.
- Apply expertise in electronics design and manufacturing processes, including RF and audio technologies, to develop scalable automated test solutions that reduce development costs and accelerate deployment timelines.
- Evaluate and assess emerging software tools, hardware technologies, components, and test system architectures.
- Lead cost reduction, yield improvement, and process optimization initiatives throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Support schematic reviews, PCB layout reviews, and Design for Test (DFT) activities.
- Collaborate with external test equipment suppliers and vendors to ensure RFQ requirements are met and project milestones are achieved.
- Facilitate technical discussions and maintain open communication across global teams and stakeholders.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or automated test systems development, preferably within the automotive electronics industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in software and hardware test system design, architecture, and deployment of robust automated test solutions in integral manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and developing manufacturing test strategies
