Role Description The Software Engineering Fellowship — LUNARTECH — Mexico is a part-time, remote opportunity designed for emerging software engineers who want hands-on experience with real AI-native systems. Fellows will collaborate with engineering and product teams to design, develop, and maintain software components that support LunarTech’s AI platforms and applications. Day-to-day activities may include writing and testing clean, maintainable code, working with databases, using Linux-based environments, and contributing to integration and deployment workflows.



Fellows will participate in code reviews, receive mentorship, and help troubleshoot and optimize system performance across different products and services. This fellowship also offers structured learning, exposure to production-grade AI systems, and performance-based feedback and certification. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in building, testing, and maintaining software solutions.
• Candidates should possess practical experience working with Databases, including querying, schema design, and data integrity concepts.
• Candidates should possess skills in Linux environments, including command-line usage, scripting basics, and system navigation.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Java, including object-oriented programming principles and familiarity with common frameworks or libraries.
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering best practices (version control, documentation, code reviews) is beneficial.
• Interest in AI, machine learning, or data-intensive systems, and willingness to learn modern AI tooling and workflows is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate effectively within distributed teams, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
• Current enrollment in or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
