About the Role
Our client, an educational institution committed to student success beyond graduation, is seeking a dynamic Orientador Vocacional y de Carrera for their campus in Morelia, Michoacán . This role is crucial in guiding students through the process of exploring career options, identifying their strengths and interests, and making informed decisions about their educational and professional paths. The idóneo candidate will possess strong counseling skills, a comprehensive understanding of the job market, and a passion for empowering young individuals to achieve their career aspirations. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility while maintaining essential in-person student interactions in Morelia .

Key Responsibilities

Conduct individual counseling sessions with students to explore career interests, aptitudes, and values.

Administer and interpret career assessment tools (e.g., interest inventories, aptitude tests).

Provide guidance on educational pathways, including course selection, major choices, and graduate school applications.

Assist students in developing job search skills, including resume writing, cover letter creation, and interview preparation.

Organize and facilitate career fairs, workshops, and information sessions for students and the wider community.

Maintain an updated database of career resources, internships, and employment opportunities in Michoacán and beyond.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external employers to create networking and experiential learning opportunities for students.





Stay current with labor market trends and emerging career fields.

Develop and implement programs to support student career development throughout their academic journey.

Advise students on career decision-making and goal setting.

Requirements

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in career counseling, academic advising, or a related field, preferably within an educational setting.

Strong knowledge of career development theories and assessment tools.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

Proficiency in counseling techniques and career exploration strategies.

Experience in organizing events and workshops.

Familiarity with local job market dynamics in Michoacán .

Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with student information systems or career platforms.
