About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced International Freight Claims Specialist with a background in fresh produce logistics and claims involving air freight and ocean containers.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage international freight claims involving fresh produce shipments transported by air and ocean.
- Investigate cargo damage, spoilage, temperature deviations, shortages, and shipment losses.
- Handle the full claims process, including documentation, filing, follow-up, negotiations, and settlements.
- Review Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), commercial invoices, temperature records, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate with international carriers, freight forwarders, insurance providers, and internal teams.
- Negotiate settlements and recover financial losses.
- Track claims, maintain accurate records, and prepare management reports.

Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in freight claims management, preferably within international logistics, freight forwarding, or a 3PL environment.




- Experience handling claims involving fresh produce, perishable cargo, or temperature-sensitive shipments.
- Knowledge of international air freight and ocean container transportation, particularly refrigerated shipments.
- Understanding of cargo damage investigations, claims documentation, and carrier liability.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics or transportation management systems.
- Advanced English proficiency for communication with international stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple claims and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international produce shipments between Latin America and the United States.
- Familiarity with cargo insurance claims, Incoterms, and cold chain logistics.
- Experience negotiating claims with ocean carriers, airlines, and insurance providers.
