Role Description The Software Engineering Fellowship — LUNARTECH — Mexico is a part-time, remote role designed to give fellows hands-on experience with production-grade AI and software systems. Day-to-day, fellows collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain software components across LunarTech’s products and platforms.

Responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, working with databases,



configuring and using Linux-based environments, and contributing to integration, testing, and deployment workflows. Fellows participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable systems. This fellowship also provides structured mentorship, performance feedback, and exposure to real-world AI engineering challenges in a global, distributed team.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Software Development, including understanding of software design principles and lifecycle practices.
- Proficiency in Programming with Java, including object-oriented design and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience working with Databases, including basic schema design, querying, and data handling.
- Comfort using Linux environments for development, scripting, and system troubleshooting.
- Relevant coursework or experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently in a remote setting, and collaborate effectively across time zones.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems, and exposure to agile or iterative development practices.
- Interest in AI, data-intensive systems, or backend engineering; prior experience in these areas is a plus.
