About the Role

Our client is a rapidly expanding technology startup seeking a seasoned General Accountant to join their fully remote team. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive and experienced accounting professional to establish and manage key financial processes from the ground up. The idóneo candidate will be comfortable working autonomously, leveraging technology to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations. This role is critical for supporting our strategic growth and requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and best practices in a remote setting. As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere within Mexico, with a focus on achieving results and contributing to our innovative company culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Work closely with external auditors during year-end closing and audits.
- Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures as the company scales.
- Utilize and optimize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insights and support to management for strategic decision-making.




- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for easy retrieval and auditing.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive accounting experience.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP Business One) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIFs) and best practices.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, particularly in a virtual setting.
- Fluency in English is a significant advantage for communicating with international stakeholders.
