Apply your machining and construction plan-review judgment to help evaluate AI systems that work with technical plans, on a flexible part-time schedule.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real technical experts. The teams building them need machining and construction experts who can create realistic plan-review scenarios, judge how well the AI interprets drawings and documentation, write the answer an experienced professional would give, and explain exactly where the AI falls short. Your assessments help improve model handling of drawings, field plans and practical implementation details.
This is remote, part-time work.
What you'll do
- Assess advanced machining drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifications, for accuracy and practical application
- Review documentation for CNC setup and programming, judging whether it reflects sound machining practice and addresses likely troubleshooting issues
- Review construction, drilling and mine plans to identify omissions, test feasibility, and flag implementation risks
- Review plans for fire and building work for safety and compliance, then explain your technical reading clearly in writing and speech
Why this is worth your time
- Get paid $40–$60 an hour for plan review and AI training feedback
- Assess technical plans and written responses to help measure how AI handles machining and construction work
- Apply your field experience to realistic plan-review tasks that support AI training
- Fully remote and adaptable, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
- 10 or more years of experience in one of these roles: master machinist; construction superintendent; drilling engineer; mine planner; cabinetmaker; fire officer
- Strong experience reading technical drawings alongside field plans, with hands-on command of CNC programming, machining processes, and GD&T; application
- Fluent English; comprehensive knowledge of US codes and standards applicable to construction, fire or mining work; and experience assessing plans for fire and building work, with attention to safety and regulatory concerns
- No AI experience needed.
Pay and details
- $40–$60 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
- Under 20 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, Mexico
How to apply
- Apply on OpenTrain (about two minutes).
- Complete a short application on the hiring platform.
- If shortlisted, complete a brief AI interview with technical questions and a coding challenge; do it soon after the invitation to qualify for paid tasks.
