About the Role
Our client, a well-established insurance provider, is seeking a skilled Especialista en Suscripción de Seguros de Vida to join their team in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca . This is a critical role focused on evaluating and accepting insurance risks for life insurance policies. The successful candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of life insurance underwriting principles. You will assess applicant information, medical records, and other relevant data to determine risk levels and set appropriate premium rates. This position requires a high degree of professionalism and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze insurance applications, medical histories, financial statements, and other relevant documentation.

Assess mortality risks and determine the eligibility and terms for issuing life insurance policies.

Calculate premiums and recommend policy conditions based on risk assessment.

Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and all relevant insurance regulations.

Communicate with agents and brokers to gather additional information or clarify details on applications.

Collaborate with the actuarial and claims departments on risk analysis and policy development.

Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting decisions and justifications.

Stay current with industry trends, medical advancements, and changes in underwriting practices.





Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting standards and procedures.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Life Insurance Underwriter or in a similar role.

Comprehensive knowledge of life insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment methodologies.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating information.

Proficiency in underwriting software and standard office productivity tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and liaison with stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively within established timelines.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, or a related field is preferred.

Professional certifications in underwriting are highly desirable.
