About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Ingeniero de Voz sobre IP (VoIP) y Comunicaciones Unificadas to join their remote technical team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from any location in Mexico. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the company's VoIP and unified communications infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient communication services for employees. This role requires a strong understanding of VoIP protocols, telephony systems, and related network technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, and manage VoIP systems and unified communications platforms (e.g., Cisco CallManager, Microsoft Teams Voice, Avaya).
- Configure and maintain telephony hardware and software, including IP phones, gateways, and session border controllers (SBCs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice quality issues, call routing problems, and system outages.
- Monitor the performance and availability of VoIP and UC services.
- Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP and UC configurations and procedures.
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of underlying IP networks for voice traffic.
- Implement and manage UC features such as presence, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
- Plan and execute upgrades and migrations of VoIP and UC systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff regarding UC solutions.




- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in VoIP and unified communications.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience specifically with VoIP and Unified Communications systems.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, RTP, and RTCP.
- Experience with major UC platforms like Cisco UC, Microsoft Teams Voice, Avaya, or similar.
- Strong understanding of IP networking, including QoS, VLANs, and routing.
- Experience with Session Border Controllers (SBCs) is highly desirable.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly for voice quality issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote work.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Voice, CCNP Collaboration, Microsoft Teams Voice Certifications) are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
