About the Role

Our client, a renowned pediatric hospital dedicated to providing world-class medical care to children, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Jefe de Farmacia Hospitalaria Pediátrica to lead their pharmacy department in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes . This leadership role is crucial for overseeing all aspects of pediatric pharmaceutical services, ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications for young patients. You will manage a team of pharmacists and technicians, develop and implement clinical pharmacy services, and collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and direction to the pediatric pharmacy team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Oversee the procurement, storage, dispensing, and distribution of all medications within the pediatric service lines.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and patient counseling.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Manage the pediatric formulary, including drug review and selection processes.
- Oversee the safe handling and administration of hazardous medications, such as chemotherapy agents.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.




- Manage pharmacy budgets and resource allocation for the pediatric pharmacy department.
- Provide training and mentorship to pharmacy staff and students/residents.
- Stay current with advancements in pediatric pharmacotherapy and hospital pharmacy practice.

Requirements

- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency; PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in pediatrics.
- Extensive knowledge of pediatric pharmacotherapy, common pediatric diseases, and their treatment.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding, hazardous drug management, and unit dose drug distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO/accreditation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish and a working knowledge of English.
- Experience with electronic health records and pharmacy information systems.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
