About the Role

Our client, a distinguished name in the mining and metallurgy sector, is actively seeking a results-oriented and experienced Plant Manager for Mineral Processing to lead their operations in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, MX . This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall management of the mineral processing plant, ensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally sound operations that meet production targets and quality standards. The idóneo candidate will possess a strong background in metallurgical engineering, extensive experience in plant operations management, and a proven ability to lead and motivate large teams. You will oversee all aspects of the processing circuit, from crushing and grinding to flotation and refining, driving continuous improvement and optimizing plant performance. This role is crucial for maximizing resource recovery and ensuring the profitability of the mining operation in the strategically important region of Ciudad Juárez .

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of the mineral processing plant, ensuring targets for throughput, recovery, and quality are met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize plant efficiency and minimize costs.
- Manage the plant's budget, including operational expenditures and capital investment planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of metallurgists, engineers, supervisors, and plant operators.
- Oversee maintenance and reliability programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.




- Implement and manage quality control procedures for all processed materials.
- Collaborate with mine operations, engineering, and supply chain departments to ensure seamless production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Report on plant performance, production metrics, and financial results to senior management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of various mineral processing techniques (e.g., flotation, leaching, gravity separation).
- Proven track record in optimizing plant performance, improving recoveries, and managing costs.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental management systems in the mining industry.
- Experience with process control systems and data analysis.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Fluency in Spanish and English; knowledge of regulations in Mexico is essential.
